Four Wheeled Luggage Carts: Make Life Easy!

How do the extra 2 wheels make life easier?

You may have noticed that most of the high quality professional and consumer grade luggage carts at http://www.bestluggagecarts.com have two large six-inch wheels for easy maneuverability, but some of them have an extra set of wheels. Why? They stabilize the load. What does that actually mean?

The answer to that question was brought home to me by my elderly neighbor who was sharing with me that she used to use a travel luggage cart with two wheels but the weight of the load had started to hurt her wrist. The problem was that her wrists are weaker now and the weight of the load being shared between the large wheels of her cart and her hand was too much for her anymore. Her solution to the problem was to get a cart with four wheels which she easily pushes around because the weight of the load was no longer on her wrist but was squarely on those four wheels. That extra set of wheels was bearing the upper portion of the load for her, so her life was made easier by reducing her pain while letting her continue to do the things she likes to do.

That is why the two extra wheels are on utility carts that have a larger capacity. They distribute the heavier load onto the wheels and off of your body which makes it much easier for you to transport the load. Luggage cart number 450 which carries 250 pounds, and the numbers 710 and 730 which carry 400 pounds each are specifically engineered to not only carry a larger than average load, but to also make it easier to carry that heavier load by further reducing the strain on your body, which is the main purpose of those extra little wheels.

There are also some other advantages to having those two extra little wheels. As you use your cart you will notice that now you don't have to make the luggage cart stand up in order to make a momentary stop while you are in transit. Now, you can simply stop and let go your grip of the load without first standing it up as you must with a two-wheeled cart. The cart will stand in the proper travel position all on its own while you buy a snack or get your tickets out of your pocket or talk to the agent and sign papers. So not only is the load easier to transport, but it is easier to start and stop, too. When it is time to resume your travel pace, you just grab hold again, and pull, without having to first tilt the cart into the moving position. This saves some of the hassle as you wait to board the train or bus or plane, too. You sit down with the cart standing next to you on its own. When it is time to board, you can quickly stand up, and pull, and be on your way in an instant.

Those two extra wheels are also engineered to be "click and go" which means that you can easily click them up and away or down into traveling position, with your foot, by tapping the mechanism that is built into the cart. They move up or down on their own with a simple tap of your foot. The extra click and go wheels actually make your cart even more versatile because you can use it as either a two-wheeled or a four-wheeled luggage cart as you choose. It is like having two different carts with two different uses all in one.

The click and go wheels make going up and down stairs much easier, too, because the extra wheels would definitely be in the way as you tried to go up or down a curb or stairs. The click and go wheels quickly and easily fold away whenever you need to make the change which allows you to go up and down curbs and stairs on a moments notice with hardly a change in pace. It is just as easy to resume on the other side, too, because they click back down into place again when you have finished your climb and you are once again on flat terrain.

If the terrain you have to cross is rough or uneven, such as a gravel parking lot, those little wheels may actually become a hindrance to your progress, so you simply click them up and away and continue across the gravel lot on the large six-inch wheels that are easier to maneuver on uneven terrain. When you again reach an even surface, such as pavement or hard packed dirt, you easily click them down again and continue on your way.

As you can see the extra wheels are very handy and useful under many different situations. When the load is extra heavy, then they make transporting the load easier. If you happen to have weak or injured wrists, hands, or shoulders the extra wheels make it possible for you to carry the stuff you need without adding pain to your task. They easily move out of the way, when you don't need them, such as climbing curbs or stairs, or crossing rough terrain. You have the option of using your luggage cart as a two-wheeled or four-wheeled cart to match every situation you might come across. I think they are the perfect solution to make taking your stuff with you a whole lot easier. Happy traveling!
